To the SE of the plot ca. 300 m is Bucklick Br. The community there is a Tsuga canadensis/Rhododendron maximum forest. I believe I saw Betula alleghaniensis in this community hiking up from the river. This seems like very low elevation for it. For more context see GARI.37 & 38.;Dry oak forest on steep gorge slope dominated by mixed oak species. Lots of Hieracium venosum, Packera obovata, Silene virginica and Asclepias quadrifolia in bloom. The forest is much brighter here than the previous 2 plots. Exposed bands of platey sandstone are found within the plot. Although the forest seems dry, it looks quite diverse for a dry site.

Small patch of drier forest on SW aspect. This is very simial to plot GARI.34 completed last week. It is also quite similar to our rich oak community at BLUE.
